Planview Force for Good is Giving Back for Back to School

Time to sharpen your pencils and brush up on your basic arithmetic skills, because it is time to go back to school! If you are a parent or guardian, you know how exciting, nerve-racking, and expensive this time of year can be. Making sure your child has everything they need to start the school year comes at a literal cost for many teachers and parents.

The People of Planview – and Planview’s Force for Good Employee Resource Group (ERG) – empathize with this struggle. This year, the group came together to try to find a way to give back to students and teachers and help get the supplies they need to have an exceptional school year.

Here is how Force for Good is encouraging Planview employees to make a difference this back-to-school season:

Employees Giving Back

When Force for Good announced our plans to give back, the Planview employees rose to the occasion! The group had a goal to match donations up to 5k and we are ecstatic to say, “We did it!”

In summary, Planview employees gave over $5,000 making a grand total of $10,000 all going directly to charities around the world!

Donating to Great Causes

Planview Force for Good is always looking for new ways to make a difference and subsequently, this year we found several worthy charities to donate to. Together, the group decided to share three organizations that help teachers and students in need of school supplies. Here are the organizations Force for Good recommended:

  1. Kids in Need Foundation.

The Kids in Need Foundation promotes equity in schools. In addition, they aim to help teachers and students in under-resourced schools.

  1. Operation Backpack

Operation Backpack aids students from Pre-K to Pre-college with a new backpack filled with grade specific school supplies.

  1. Back to School America

A nonprofit that specializes in sending children back to school kits for low-income families.

Thank you

In summary, the Force for Good team is working hard to make a difference in our communities. We truly hope that our back-to-school efforts have made an impact! Additionally, we want to thank all the generous Planview employees who donated.

The team is excited about our upcoming annual Week of Giving event where we encourage employees to take 8 hours during “work hours” to volunteer for a charity of their choice. Be on the lookout for what Force for Good will do next!
