The 7 Deadly Wastes of Lean

Several of us among LeanKit’s founders and early employees first learned about Lean in the context of logistics and manufacturing. We wrote and implemented software that helped big companies buy and move and track physical goods. So we learned about the Lean concept of reducing waste in terms of inventory, transportation, motion, etc. It made...

Welcome to the New Lean

If you’ve been to business school, or are at all familiar with business history, you’ll know that Lean was a big, big thing in the 1980s and ‘90s. Western manufacturing companies were being decimated by their Japanese rivals, especially Toyota, and they were trying everything they could to regain their competitive edge. Many flavors of...

An awful lot of time gets wasted building detailed plans that end up bearing no relation to reality. The idea of making...

LeanKit Kanban API & Wrappers

As we mentioned in an earlier post, our customers have integrated LeanKit with many different kinds of systems. And we provide services to develop integrations if you don’t have the time or inclination to do this yourself. But, if you do want to develop your own integration, read this article about our API in the LeanKit Knowledge Base. Our...
