It’s an exciting day for Planview and LeanKit as today we announced that we are coming together to launch the next phase of our work and resource management (WRM) vision. As I have been briefing industry analysts and customers on this news, I am struck by several overwhelmingly consistent reactions that are worth sharing.
The first reaction is an almost instantaneous validation that Planview + Planview AgilePlace just makes sense. There is no need for nuanced positioning or messaging. Planview AgilePlace’s best-of-breed leadership in Lean-Agile is simply a perfect complement to the WRM platform we have been building at Planview. Convergence and disruption are the themes du jour and bringing PPM and Lean-Agile together not only makes sense, it is what every organization is trying to figure out in real time. We hope that together we can bring a new dimension of thought leadership supported by great products to this challenge for all our customers.
Second is a testament to what the Planview AgilePlace team has accomplished over the past 8 years. “Great company, great product, and customers really love the product,” has been played back to me more than once. We should all aspire to that tag line, and we could not be more pleased to have that reputation now as part of the Planview family. Well done to Planview AgilePlace and we cannot wait to broaden the reach and visibility of this great solution.
Finally, going forward we are being very clear that Planview AgilePlace fills the promise of “Enterprise Kanban for Engineers” in the marketplace. Extending the Planview WRM platform into Lean-Agile and bringing engineers into our core customer base is an exciting day (maybe I am a tad biased given my own EE roots 😊). From software developers, to DevOps teams, to IT Ops teams, to product engineers, extending WRM to the world of engineering is an important evolution.
The power of Lean is to help organizations scale work-centric processes in the quest for process excellence and efficiency. This is a whole new way of thinking about work within our WRM platform. From project success, to iteration value, to process excellence, we feel WRM is evolving to encompass every way teams and organizations work today. I’d like to personally welcome all the Planview AgilePlace employees and customers; we are so excited to have you as part of Planview and look forward to our existing customers feeling the same way.
