Innovating Together: 12 Highlights from a Remarkable Year

As the new year approaches, we’re reflecting on an extraordinary 2024 through the lens of holiday cheer with a special “12 Months of Planview” celebration – our light-hearted take on the seasonal carol “12 Days of Christmas.”

Each month below highlights a significant achievement, milestone, or memory that has defined our journey this year.

Just as the beloved song builds its festive tale one gift at a time, our story this year has been one of growth, collaboration, and gratitude.

Join us as we unwrap the moments that made 2024 a year to remember, spreading joy and appreciation to our employees, customers, and communities who made it all possible.

January: Starting the year with momentum milestones

We started the year by celebrating a continued trend of innovation, momentum, and growth from the fiscal year 2023. Here’s an example for each category.

  • Innovation: We released Planview Copilot, an advanced generative AI assistant for connected work built on Planview’s unique data foundations from over 4,500 customers and $350B of digital transformation spend.
  • Momentum: Leading analyst firms continued to recognize Planview, naming the company a leader in several key reports last year, including the April 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Strategic Portfolio Management.
  • Growth: We added 257 new logos as customers and enjoyed strong partner engagement with 126 partner professional services certifications awarded.

New or notable customers who selected or expanded their footprint with Planview include Bausch & Lomb, Cisco Systems, Citibank, DANONE, Emirates Group, Fidelity, Fonterra, Franklin Templeton, GlaxoSmithKline, JPMorgan Chase, La Banque Postale, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Lockheed Martin, National Grid UK, Novartis, Qatar National Bank, Stryker Corporation, Tesco Stores, T-Mobile, TUI InfoTec, University of South Australia, and Vanguard.

February: Coming together for our global kickoff week

In February, Planview teams from around the world came together not just to learn and share knowledge, but to forge stronger connections that span continents.

The energy was palpable as we explored innovative strategies, shared insights, and learned from each other’s experiences. This week gave everyone a chance to enhance our skills and deepen our commitment to serving our customers worldwide with unparalleled excellence.

March: Empowering women worldwide with International Women’s Day

In March, we celebrated International Women’s Day. Led by the Women@Planview Employee Resource Group (ERG), we hosted seven events in our offices around the world this month, from Bangalore to Vancouver.

To recognize the official theme for IWD 2024 — “inspire inclusion” — we asked several women at Planview to share how they celebrate diversity and empowerment today and every day. Here’s what they said.

April: Leading the pack with analyst recognition

In April, Planview was proud to be named a Leader in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Adaptive Project Management and Reporting for the third consecutive year. This accolade reflects our commitment to building a culture that supports adaptive and agile project management practices.

“We empower organizations to excel by aligning company strategy with team-level work. This drives utmost efficiency and delivers results,” said Louise K. Allen, Chief Product Officer at Planview.

“With Planview, teams become agile and resilient to evolving challenges, fostering collaboration and the ability to pivot plans and strategies that remain aligned with overarching business objectives. Our data-driven platform facilitates real-time insights, accelerating the ability to prioritize initiatives that drive maximum business value. We equip companies to navigate complexities and achieve sustainable innovation efforts in today’s ever-changing business landscape.”

Other newsworthy moments from the year included:

May: Highlights from our week of community service

May marked another inspiring chapter in Planview’s commitment to social responsibility with the annual Week of Giving. Our Week of Giving empowers employees to choose the causes and initiatives they care about and invest their time and energy in local communities.

Planview teams from Vancouver to Bangalore demonstrated compassion and dedication through various acts of service. Here’s a glimpse into how several Planview teams contributed.

June: Revolutionizing planning and delivery with Digital Product Insights

In June, we launched a first-to-market offering—Digital Product Insights—that combines portfolio management and agile planning with delivery insights from value stream management (VSM) and objectives and key results (OKRs).

“The combination of strategy, planning, and delivery insights in a single view is instrumental to driving digital transformation success and customer value,” said Dr. Mik Kersten, Planview CTO and author of the book, Project to Product: How to Survive and Thrive in the Age of Digital Disruption with the Flow Framework. “With this offering we are providing a better way to connect portfolio management and agile planning to the delivery engine, giving organizations a powerful, data-rich consolidated view into how their delivery teams are impacting business outcomes.

One of the key data inputs into the new Digital Product Insights is AI-powered sentiment analysis, which crawls comments for positive, negative, or neutral language to provide a holistic view of plan performance to further support proactive, data-driven decision-making and confident delivery predictability.

July: Insights from Gene Kim on the Mik + One podcast

In July, esteemed author and technology thought leader Gene Kim joined Mik on the Mik+One podcast to discuss what makes organizations high performers. Fun fact: Gene was the podcast’s first-ever guest when Mik launched the show in 2020. Listen to the full episode here.

The season’s remaining episodes featured a variety of guests and topics. Check them out here:

August: Strengthening global connections

We launched official partnerships with 25 well-respected organizations around the world, from Belgium to Thailand to the United States. The new partners included:

  • SOFTRAX, which bridges the gap between Planview AdaptiveWork and ERP systems – with the highest level of automation in billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition
  • Praecipio, which specializes in helping companies with seamless synchronization between some of the largest platforms
  • Bronson AI, a public sector powerhouse that helps companies with an array of transformations from data strategy to automation

September: A strategic leap forward with Plutora

September ushered in an exciting new chapter of growth, with Planview’s acquisition of Plutora, a leading provider of Value Stream Management (VSM) and software delivery solutions.

“Company leaders need to make smart decisions based on data as they simultaneously try to achieve business goals and modernize their systems,” said Razat Gaurav, CEO of Planview. “By combining Plutora’s value stream measurement capabilities with Planview’s expertise in connected work, we will give our customers an unmatched view of their software delivery lifecycle, providing them with tremendous value.”

October: The first-ever Project to Product Summit and exciting new research

October was the month of Project to Product. We released the 2024 Project to Product State of the Industry Report, which explores how organizations are navigating the transition to a product operating model.

Our research revealed that elite organizations—defined as meeting their quarterly business objectives more than 90% of the time—have twice as much product-oriented work as low-performing organizations.

We also hosted the inaugural Project to Product Summit, which drew over 4,400 registrants across two events: an in-person experience for executives in NYC and a virtual conference for everyone from team members to CEOs. In case you missed it, you can catch up on popular sessions on demand here.

November: Advancing with Planview Copilot

In November, we shared the exciting results of our Planview Copilot co-development program. For six months, 45 customers engaged with the program, known as Inner Circles. Over that time, interactions with Planview Copilot increased by nearly 400%.

Also, we released “new skills” for Copilot that use AI-driven insights to:

  • Analyze and interpret real-time metrics and data, better flagging risks and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and alignment for project, product, and portfolio managers, as well as executives and transformation leaders
  • Summarize project statuses and recommend next steps, saving time and improving productivity
  • Deliver educational assistance and onboarding, further simplifying usage across all users

December: Looking ahead to 2025 and Planview Connect

What a busy year it has been! We look forward to continuing to build on this momentum in 2025. Although the weather is chilly now for many of our employees, we are thinking warm thoughts as we plan Planview Connect this April–our annual global gathering of Planview customers, partners, and industry experts for three days of learning, networking, and fun in the sun in Hollywood, Florida.

The Journey Continues

As we wrap up our “12 Months of Planview” celebration and look back on an extraordinary 2024, it’s clear that this year has been one of remarkable growth, innovation, and connection for Planview.

From record-breaking achievements in revenue and growth to exciting product launches and impactful community initiatives, every milestone has been a testament to the hard work, creativity, and resilience of our teams around the globe. As we look ahead to 2025, we carry forward the momentum of this year’s successes, inspired by the partnerships and collaborations that have driven us forward.

Thank you for being part of our journey—here’s to building an even brighter future together. Happy holidays from all of us at Planview!
