U.S. Department of Energy Receives Award for Enterprise Architecture Innovation

It’s not easy turning a cyber breach into a positive experience that helps your organization make better risk-based cyber decisions. As Innovation Architect for the U.S. Department of Energy, Rick Lauderdale is responsible for doing just that by defining EA methodologies and the architecture review process.

So, it came as no surprise to us when an expert panel awarded Rick and the Department of Energy with the 2017 Global Enterprise Architecture Innovation and Excellence Award for their work using Troux by Planview, BDNA, iVision Consulting, and ServiceNow in the IT Asset Cyber Security space. Rick was recognized by CorporateLiveWire for his success embedding innovation into the very essence of the organization – from executives to project leaders.

Specifically, CorporateLiveWire praised his vision establishing the DOE IT Asset Cybersecurity initiative, a proactive solution to assist aCorporateLiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards 2017nd forecast possible software data breaches. They called out Rick’s ability to leverage application portfolio solutions to capture brand new ideas, and then leverage that input to develop innovative solutions and solve the most complex challenges.

What’s really cool is that the Innovation & Excellence Awards honor businesses that are successfully transforming their respective industries by setting industry trends, as well as showing significant innovation and improvement. These awards are sponsored by the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA), a global non-profit member network that serves a diverse group of 2,200+ entrepreneurship centers.

This is not the first time Rick and his team have been honored for their EA transformation efforts. Federal News Radio, Fed Scoop; Architecture and Governance magazine, Forbes, MIT, Troux, and BNDA have all recognized his strategic vision in recent years. He is known for his vision tying IT Asset Management (software and hardware) with cybersecurity data breeches to U.S. Federal government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and numerous foreign private and commercial companies.

Congratulations to Rick and his team at the U.S. Department of Energy for a job well done!
