The new product release for the Tasktop value stream management platform — Planview Hub 21.4 — is out today. The latest evolution of Hub makes integrating at enterprise-scale even faster than before. This release also adds TestRail and the Jira Portfolio plug-in to Tasktop’s 60+ connectors to best-of-breed Agile and DevOps tools.
Introducing Affinity Modeling for faster integration setup and maintenance
We’re thrilled to announce a significant addition to model-based integration! Affinity Modeling allows you to model multiple work item types in the same Collection, providing they are significantly similar. Specifically, they share the same core set of fields you’d want to flow to a single artifact type in a target repository.
This need is common for tools that make heavy use of artifact subtypes or custom types. Hence this is big news for our customers, including:
- Jama, ALM and DNG users synchronizing multiple requirement type fields
- Codebeamer users with hundreds of trackers
- Jira Service Desk users with many custom ticket types
The combined power of modeling multiple projects und multiple artifact types — all in one go — makes integrating at enterprise-scale even faster than before. You’ll have fewer Collections to maintain and fewer work items to map to a model.
Watch this brief demo of Affinity Modeling:
Planview Hub users can find this new feature in the Collection configuration page, under the Options menu for work item selection. Learn more in our docs.
Announcing support for TestRail, our latest connector
TestRail, by Gurock, is a test case management solution for QA and development teams to efficiently manage test cases, plans and runs.
This is the latest addition to Tasktop’s 60+ connectors to best-of-breed Agile and DevOps tools. It allows organizations to seamlessly integrate TestRail with the rest of the toolchain to improve visibility, traceability and collaboration and to eliminate error prone and time-consuming duplicate data entry.
In this video we demonstrate some of these benefits for the TestRail<>Jama integration. See how product and program managers in Jama get in-tool visibility into test cases and test coverage based on the activity in TestRail, while traceability links are automatically inserted between related requirements and tests.
Support for Jira Portfolio plugin
If you’re using the Jira Portfolio plug-in for on-prem Jira, Tasktop integrations can now support the Team field.
In addition, it is now possible for Epics to be linked to extended artifact hierarchies such as themes, initiatives and portfolios. Tasktop integrations can now synchronize the Epic Parent Link field to other tools in your integration, allowing everyone to know where an Epic fits within your strategic framework.
