Today’s launch of Planview Enterprise Version 12 is a significant milestone in a multi-year journey to create the most intuitive user experience (UX) in the PPM market and introduce strategic planning into portfolio and resource management. Precipitated by the ongoing expansion of portfolio and resource management as an enterprise-wide discipline, we’ve been partnering with our customers since 2013 to identify the needs of PMOs, line of business managers and business leaders. We’ve spent more than 8,000 hours with 250 customers and 500 participants of our Inner Circle customer community. This includes over 500 hours of focused, usability testing.
This investment and process have created a great deal of value for our customers. Not only have we provided the best user experience in the world of PPM through a number of innovations, but we’ve also introduced fundamentally new strategic planning capabilities into portfolio and resource management.
Planview Enterprise 12 is our most exciting release yet because it drives the user experience forward and makes strategy come to life in our customers’ businesses.
Bringing UX Full Circle
Our UX journey started with Version 11. With Planview Enterprise 12 the entire UX has been built anew from the ground up to drive the experience forward.
In partnership with our customers, Planview Enterprise now benefits from numerous innovations that ease the use, improve decision making and accelerate value. The ribbon and its associated tiles have dramatically changed the way users interact with the product. Combined with a powerful approach to search, users have portfolios, metrics and reporting at their fingertips. Traditional menus are almost a thing of the past for the everyday user. In addition, countless interaction design improvements have made every aspect of planning and execution more streamlined than ever.
Visual enhancements (flat-design) in Planview Enterprise 12, a completely redesigned timesheet, and a new financial planning detail page are great examples of the new interaction design and improved UX resulting from years of customer insight and feedback.
Synchronizing Across Planview’s Portfolio Solutions
With this release, we’ve also synchronized the versioning numbers of Planview Enterprise and Troux to signify our vision going forward in helping the PMO and EA disciplines integrate processes and drive strategy across their organizations.
We’ve been in the portfolio and resource management market since its inception, and the conversations we’ve had over the course of that time have influenced all the decisions and innovations that have gone into Planview Enterprise 12 and Troux 12. But be assured that we will not rest. At Planview, we will continue to help our customers optimize their resources to execute on their strategy. We’re on to the next journey already.
