In business, growth and expansion is not just a good thing, it is the very reason for existence. Whether the growth comes naturally through an increase in sales, addition of new products, introduction to new markets. Or if that growth comes in the form of mergers and acquisitions, growing pains often accompany expanding operations.
Here at Planview AdaptiveWork, we are well versed in addressing these growing pains with our customers. Aggressive sales goals and growing PS teams for example, require an easy to learn and use system in order to manage the increased workload more effectively. Introducing new products and capturing new market opportunities on the other hand, require an adaptable system to design, build and implement new systems, workflows and processes quickly and at scale. In the case of ANZCO Foods, a New Zealand based food processing and distributor company, their growth came in the form of M&A, and they were looking to consolidate operations under a formal & enterprise-wide framework.
Since 1984, ANZCO has been steadily growing operations through a combination of natural growth and acquiring new operational sites. Today, they are one of New Zealand’s largest exporters and have a global presence. This growth was fantastic! But in 2014, ANZCO saw the need to modernize their business practices by consolidating and centralizing critical business functions.
ANZCO began a large program of investment across the organization, including upgrading core IT systems, plant automation, health & safety transformation and asset upgrades. With its ongoing maturity in the management of its investments, ANZCO undertook a review of its project portfolio management practices.
There were many benefits to this consolidation initiative including greater visibility into business critical financial data, enabling more effective individual contributors, and better monitoring & mitigation of risk. ANZCO shares their story in deeper detail here, and we invite you to take a moment to learn how they built an EPMO team and built a PPM solution to handle a wide variety of projects types and work styles.
This is just one of many stories of growth and opportunity which Planview AdaptiveWork is well equipped to help manage. You can find many more such examples on our customers page, and let us know if you’re interested in exploring how Planview AdaptiveWork can help with your own initiatives.
