Please note that Drill-Through relationships have now been renamed as Connections in Planview AgilePlace.
Connections establish parent-child relationships between Planview AgilePlace Boards. These multi-level hierarchies help you track and structure your work to the right level of detail, making it easier to not only visualize high-level initiatives but also dig deeper into the implementation details.
Here’s what to look for in the upcoming enhancements:
If you already manage your work using a multi-level Board structure, get ready for some exciting new enhancements that will help you quickly assess progress and spot execution-level problems that require attention.
Set up Connections Inside Any Card
Easily access and manage connections in any card with the new tab. This new layout allows you to create a connection and a Task Board to manage sub-tasks at the parent level.
See Progress Details
Use the progress bar to quickly assess the overall status of work being tracked by the connection. Progress is based on Card size and where the Cards are located on the Board. If you haven’t set your own Card sizes, it will default to a size of 1.
Three classifications describe where a Card is on a Board: Not Started, Started and Finished.
When a Card is in the Backlog, it’s considered “Not Started.” After a Card moves from the Backlog to the In Progress area of the Board, it’s considered “Started.” Once a Card is moved into the Archive lane, it’s considered “Finished.”
Note: You’ll soon be able to rename both Backlog and Archive lane headers based on what makes sense for your process.
Identify Problems With Your Connected Work
Warning icons automatically appear on the face of the parent Card to alert teams that child Cards are blocked or exceed planned finish dates.
A yellow warning indicates that child cards are blocked and/or late (i.e., active cards that exceed the planned finish date). A red warning indicates that the latest planned finish date at the child level exceeds the planned finish date at the parent level.
