Celebrating 20 years of the Planview Customer Conference

This October we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the first Planview customer conference. In 1997, Horizons was just a small gathering of Planview employees and customers at our old Austin office conference room. Now, 20 years later, the 2017 conference will be taking place at La Cantera Resort & Spa, a state-of-the-art conferencing facility and 4 star resort, located in the San Antonio hill country. There will be Planview customers attending from across all four of our work and resource management product lines—Planview Enterprise, Troux, Innotas, and Projectplace.

When I think about what Horizons represents to me, Planview, and our customers, I get a little teary-eyed, as it is truly a microcosm of our history—of coming together to share stories, successes, inspirations, and futures. Customers always remark how it feels like a family reunion. This year’s “reunion” will be a very special opportunity to celebrate our mutual journeys as we celebrate the 20 year anniversary. In addition to being fun and informative, after meeting with our keynote speaker, Patricia Walsh, I’m certain attendees will be inspired by her story. As a world champion triathlete and an award-winning engineer, and the author of Blind Ambition, Patricia will be sharing her personal story of what it takes to surpass limitations and overcome roadblocks in the pursuit of excellence.

Having attended all prior 19 Horizons in Austin, and being executive sponsor and MC of the past 14, I know this year will be the most amazing conference yet. It will seem like many moons ago when we had armadillo races at the Salt Lick, or when our employees performed a hockey song and dance skit, and yet it will seem like just yesterday when we toast our 20th anniversary.
