{"id":3398,"date":"2016-06-16T20:37:29","date_gmt":"2016-06-16T20:37:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.planview.com\/?p=3398"},"modified":"2016-09-21T17:59:05","modified_gmt":"2016-09-21T22:59:05","slug":"webinar-marketing-agile-method-transition-tips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.planview.com\/webinar-marketing-agile-method-transition-tips\/","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming Webinar Provides Tips on How to Transition to Agile Methods in Marketing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a recent <a title=\"Tips for getting started with agile marketing and project collaboration\" href=\"\/agile-marketing-techniques-scrum-retrospectives-sprint-planning\/\" target=\"_blank\">three-part blog series<span class=\"sr-only\">, Tips for getting started with agile marketing and project collaboration<\/span><\/a>, Ryan Doherty, Marketing Director at Planview, shared the story about how the company\u2019s marketing organization made the shift from using a ticket system, that provided little visibility into work and resources, to using an agile marketing approach.<\/p>\n<p>Originally, the demand generation and web teams, Ryan\u2019s two primary teams, used a traditional ticket system to accept work requests. Typically, the team had 120-150 ticket requests at a time, making it difficult to set priorities. Tickets would get lost and information would be tied up in streams of emails.<\/p>\n<p>Switching to more agile methodologies allowed them to break projects up into smaller time segments to set priorities accordingly. These principles allowed team members to make changes easily, simplify their overall workflow and actually gave them back time and bandwidth. Finally, being able to see progress across status columns for the whole team gave them the department-wide visibility they needed to do their jobs more efficiently.<\/p>\n<p>At Planview, the benefits of the agile transition have outweighed the challenges.
