As part of the Leading Indicator Analysis, we&#x2019;re showing you the Neglected Work In Progress (WIP), Months to Complete WIP, and your Predicted Flow Time Increase.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11288\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11288\" style=\"width: 317px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img class=\"lazyload\" alt height=\"226\" data-src=\"https:\/\/media.planview.com\/tasktop_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/wip-analytics-dec-01-10-13-29.png\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11288\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Planview Viz will now alert you to the fact that your WIP is too high when compared to your Flow Velocity and Flow Time.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b>Neglected WIP&#xA0;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Too often teams will continue to accept new work without completing their existing WIP. This can be due to either saying &#x2018;yes&#x2019; when they should say &#x2018;no&#x2019;, or by the anti-pattern of only completing the red-hot, urgent fast track work that flows over the top of the stagnating WIP. Planview Viz will now alert you to the fact that your <a href=\"\/flow-load\">Flow Load<\/a> (i.e. WIP) is too high when compared to your <a href=\"\/flow-velocity-how-fast-are-we-delivering-business-value-through-software-delivery\">Flow Velocity<\/a> and <a href=\"\/flow-time\">Flow Time<\/a>. Neglected WIP erodes trust with both your customers and teams as commitments are not met and priorities continue to change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Months to Complete WIP<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the words of Dominica DeGrandis, author of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Making-Work-Visible-Exposing-Optimize\/dp\/1942788150\/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;qid=1607349391&amp;sr=8-1\"><em>Making Work Visible<\/em><\/a> and Principal Flow Advisor at Tasktop: &#x201C;Stop starting and start finishing&#x201D;. That said, it may be difficult to know when you can start starting again. When will your WIP be low enough to take on more work? Planview Viz will now give you a forward-looking indicator of how long it will take to complete your existing Flow Load.&#xA0;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Predicted Flow Time Increase<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Healthy teams want their Flow Times to be as low as possible. As you improve, you&#x2019;d expect that you complete features and defects faster, resulting in a lower Flow Time. It may seem counter-intuitive, but for teams with significant Neglected WIP, completing the WIP will actually <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">increase<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> their Flow Time. Each Group can contain both Product Value Streams as well as other children Groups. That&#x2019;s why we&#x2019;ve introduced a Search bar on the left side navigation bar. Search for individual value streams or Groups based on their names.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3. Favorites<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why bother searching for the same thing more than once? Planview Viz has a Favorites capability.
