In this one we\u2019ll continue to explore a further two technology trends to look out for in 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are drowning in the amount of data produced today and many organizations just don\u2019t have the necessary tools to deal with it. In addition, our ways of working are changing, yet our physical workspace environments are often remaining rigid, making collaboration harder.<\/p>\n

2015 will be the year for intelligence on demand and lean workspaces that will help businesses create more value for the customer and enjoy greater productivity.<\/p>\n

Lean workspace<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bear in mind there may be resistance as there are with all changes. Organizational change experts suggest lean, agile change management that involves those directly affected. They emphasize co-creation amongst peers and tools and processes that are hassle-free, collaborative, transparent and easy to learn. Project managers need to combine planning and execution to give teams the tools to self-organize without losing overall control.Organizations are trialling new ways of working to meet customer needs and boost productivity, states Maria Nordborg, Agile ambassador and Director of Customer Relations, in her prediction for 2015. Lean and agile methodologies have made it into the boardroom as their benefits have been recognized. The next step it to transform the actual physical workspace. Think alternative office designs that encourage collaboration. Hot desks, booths for team work, chill-out areas and barista-made fresh coffee on tap are all ideas for the modern office.<\/p>\n

The lean workspace calls for visually intuitive tools such as\u00a0Kanban boards<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Gantt charts<\/a>\u00a0to enable collaborative planning and execution. Control through transparency is a key driver of the lean and agile workspace. It reduces waste, bottlenecks, over-processing and idleness.<\/p>\n

Intelligence on demand<\/strong><\/p>\n

One example is Google analytics which provides insights simply by presenting the information in an easily digestible way. It\u2019s inevitable that software providers will be trying to turn big data to smart data by designing tools that present more relevant, actionable insights instantly. For project managers this should result in faster and better informed decision making in executing projects. Make requirements on your software providers for 2015. Is the information you receive intelligent enough?Business Insights are invaluable to a company\u2019s success. The problem with traditional business intelligence solutions is that they are often complex to use and require specialist knowledge. This is something that Per Wising, co-director of R&D, will put a lot of thought into 2015. As more and more professions become digitalized, the role of data will grow in importance.
