SXSW never fails to disappoint, and 2018 was no exception. From speakers like Elon Musk to school demonstrations and VR and robotics showcases, there certainly wasn’t a dull moment. I mean, who wouldn’t want to hang out with a giant KUKA robot (as featured in the video below) all day? But the greatest aspect of the conference by far was getting to speak with so many product managers and global innovators about “getting sh!t done” with Projectplace and the full range of Planview solutions.
As one of the largest interactive conferences in the world, SXSW gave Carrie Nauyalis and I the opportunity to learn what is top-of-mind for product managers and marketers and to spark conversations around combining the Pragmatic Marketing Framework with Planview solutions to deliver products to market faster. Check out the video where Carrie and I discuss the conference in greater detail.
We not only got to teach attendees about the many benefits of work and resource management, but also received valuable insight into what they need and where the majority currently stand. Here are a few of our key takeaways from the 2018 SXSW conference:
- Innovation is at the top of everyone’s minds.
As always, innovation took center stage at SXSW; however, this year presented attendees that were focused on finding methods to improve their innovation process and increase time to market. Regardless of whether someone was from a large corporation or a small marketing firm, we were able to fit our solutions to their needs in help of keeping them ahead of their competition.
- People are ready to break free from endless spreadsheets.
The top two messages that really resonated with people and peaked their interest were “Get Sh!t Done” with Projectplace and “get out of spreadsheet hell.” Over and over, I heard the common sentiment from attendees of, “we only work in spreadsheets,” and they were ready for a new method. Planview solutions allow them to combine all spreadsheets, PowerPoints, emails, etc. into one collaboration tool, thus improving productivity and efficiency.
To learn more about eliminating chaos by integrating your company’s numerous different collaboration methods, I invite you to register for the on-demand webcast, “A Single Source of Truth for Centralizing the Pragmatic Marketing Framework.”
- Teams are spread out across the globe and in need of a collaboration tool.
SXSW is such a global conference that we were able to see first-hand just how geographically dispersed today’s teams are. The common issue they expressed was their lacking a way to remain connected and communicate easily, regardless of location and position. Projectplace allows teams to connect everything and everyone in one central location, with documents attached in context of the project that’s happening, and the flexibility to be operative regardless of how people work.
We had a blast connecting with fellow global innovators at SXSW this year and are looking forward to participating in the many years to come. For more information on collaborative work management, visit www.projectplace.com, and to learn more about product innovation, visit www.planview.com/pd.
