Doing the Right Things, the Right Way -With Expert Dr. Collin Scott

The esteemed host of our Ask the Expert Series, Colin Scott is a financial services technology executive with more than 25 years as a leader in the industry. Colin has worked with number of enterprise-wide development projects focused on improving the responsiveness of IT to the needs of their business partners — ultimately maximizing IT value.

If you work in a complex IT environment, you face a unique set of challenges when it comes to IT’s role in the business. In “Ask the Expert #1 ”, Colin Scott discusses how IT professionals must strategize and plan while effectively prioritizing different projects and programs.

The three key questions to answer are:

  • Are we doing the right things?
  • Are we doing them the right way?
  • Are we getting them done well?

This is a lot easier said than done. Planning and execution are both huge tasks themselves, and are dependent on each other to truly be successful. Executing a poorly planned project doesn’t mean you succeeded, just as a great plan that never comes to fruition is also deemed a failure. Too often good intentions get lost in arduous processes and projects. Watch the on-demand webcast, Ask The Expert #1, to see Colin’s recommendations.

I am really excited about what this series has to offer, and there’s more to come. Don’t miss “Ask the Expert # 2: How to Capture What the Business Really Wants”. This is a great opportunity to discuss current challenges and solutions as well as ask live questions. This series puts participants in the driver seat by serving as an open exchange of ideas, challenges, and solutions.
